Guinea Fowl- Many Assorted Colours
What a unique type of bird! Raising guineas has been much more entertaining than I had expected. We originally purchased guineas because they can decimate a tick population but now they've earned a permanent spot on our farm.
Guineas are incredibly hardy and don't mind our Canadian winters. They're easy to raise and lay lots of eggs in the spring and summer. They weigh about 2 pounds and are also tasty for a dinner for two if you want to mix up your menu and try something new.
These guys are a great alarm system - nothing will sneak onto your farm without the guineas telling you about it! With that in mind, I don't recommend keeping guinea fowl if you have a small property with many neighbours. Guineas also love freeranging but do fine in an enclosure too.
Our Flock & Update for 2023 Season
Our flock consists of about 15 colour varieties, some not listed here because I'm still researching what the correct label is for their specific colour genetics. Our breeding birds have come from across Canada to maintain genetic diversity.
- Royal Purple
- Coral Blue
- Sky Blue
- Buff Dundotte
- Pearl Grey
Please note that the colouring of the chicks/eggs will be assorted, I can't guarantee specific colouring for you.
