Breed Information

These lively little birds have an impressive combination of favourable traits. They're best known for high production of large, gorgeous green eggs. They're calm but also prolific foragers when allowed to free range. They're a small-medium sized bird (3.5lb hens, 5.5lb roosters) so their relative egg size is impressive.

Our Flock & Update for 2023 Season

We have blue, black, and splash varieties available.

In 2021, we selected strongly for that gorgeous green egg colour and hatched out lots of chicks to choose from. We did the same again in 2022 and kept only the best 6% for our 2023 breeders. The egg colour that we're seeing from this year's breeders definitely has a "WOW" factor!

Availability for 2023

We're only breeding our best trios again in 2023 to make sure that we maintain the strongest foundation for our flock so we will have limited availability again this year.

Preorder early because aside from fulfilling the preorders, we're not likely to have extras during the season. Our breeding season depends on the hens and on the weather and will likely start in April or May. Please read our Frequently Asked Questions page for more details on timing of orders.

Hatching Eggs: Due to how selective we were with our breeders for the 2023 season, we're only likely to have 2-3 dozen eggs/week available. Feel free to add more to your order if you'd like, but if you do I might need to ship them separately which will require a second shipping charge.
